Statement on the death of Pope Francis I
The Community of Learners at Cardinal Hayes High School joins with the Universal Catholic Church in mourning the death of our spiritual leader Pope Francis I. We pray for the repose of his soul and in gratitude to God for his years of service to the people of God. Pope Francis’ compassion for poor and his desire to comfort the suffering of poverty, war, violence and man’s inhumanity to man sets him apart as a successor of St. Peter. We thank God for his leadership and the legacy he leaves behind. Eternal rest grant on to him, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God , rest in peace,
