Welcome to Cardinal Hayes High School Admissions
We seek to inspire students to strive for personal excellence and responsible citizenship rooted within a Catholic framework. We work to accomplish this goal through our rigorous college preparatory program, discipline, and spiritual growth. This is all complemented by our well-developed extracurricular programs. We seek to accept students who have the potential to excel within the Hayes community. If you are ready to be a Hayesman we encourage you to apply.
8th-grade students looking to apply to Cardinal Hayes High School are encouraged to take the TACHS exam, however, an independent entrance exam will be offered to any student who did not take the TACHS exam and will be required for admission. You can register for the TACHS Exam at
Tachsinfo.com. This Exam is coordinated by the Archdiocese of New York and is available for all eighth-grade students in the Catholic, Private, or Public school sectors.
Cardinal Hayes High School TACHS CODE: 112
After the registration for the TACHS Exam is complete, students must then send a completed
Applicant Record with their sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade marks to Cardinal Hayes High School. If you attend a Catholic grammar school, your teacher should submit this form online. If you attend a public or private grammar school, please email a copy of your completed Applicant record to
Admissions@cardinalhayes.org.
Once we have received both the results of the TACHS exam and a completed
Applicant record, each student is then evaluated by the Admissions Department for his ability to be successful within one of our five academic programs.
